013 | Jo Havemann Talks About Open Science, Impact Vs. Legacy, Dealing With Imposter Syndrome.

On this episode my good friend Dr. Johanna "Jo" Havemann stopped by, met her when she was working with IPACC and helping out at the Global Indigenous Youth Caucus in 2010-ish.

She's a trainer & consultant in Open Science Communication with a background in Evolution and Developmental Biology. Her work experience is super expansive, it covers NGOs, a science startup and international institutions including the UN Environment Programme.

Nowadays she focuses on digital tools for science and her label Access 2 Perspectives, and get this....she's fascinated by inter-species communication. Enough for us to talk about, the questions she answered:

  • How can we better learn or communicate with the animal world?

  • Why is there a gap between researchers and Indigenous Peoples, and how can we overcome the gap?

  • What do you want to be remembered for the most?
